PROJECT OVERVIEW
World Centre Volunteering

International Placements & World Centres provides TGGA members with transformative global leadership opportunities through our partnership with the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS). Through fully immersive volunteer placements at prestigious World Centres, our members are exposed to international operational standards and diverse models of institutional scale. These global experiences give TGGA direct reference points to fuel our own organization's growth back home.

At Our Chalet in the Swiss Alps, Tanzanian members step into fast-paced guest services and hospitality roles, operating under rigorous international standards. Living and working in this multicultural environment requires members to bridge language and cultural gaps in real time to solve immediate operational challenges. They return to Tanzania with a documented record of professional service within a globally recognized institution and a heightened sense of independence.

Meanwhile, at the Sangam World Centre in Pune, India, members engage in community-focused service volunteering and structured specialized courses, such as Art for Change. This program trains participants in using creative, artistic methods for grassroots community engagement. Members return home equipped with an advanced facilitation toolkit that they apply directly to enrich Tanzania's own local guide units, schools, and community development projects.
