World guide foundation; It is a project that is involved in providing education to girls in places that we have not yet reached, this project extends the education of what is done by the Tanzania Girl Guide Association (TGGA) and the goal is to reach many girls.
Tanzania Girl Guide Association (TGGA) has set the ambitious goals to expand from current 100,166 members to 916,000(3% of the female population) by the end of 2016. The vital base of this expansion will be recruiting and training of new volunteer leaders who will in turn recruit new members.
TGGA participated in the WGF membership growth online workshop in march 2021 and subsequently executed a 6 months membership growth pilot project in 2021-2022. After successful completion of the pilot with recruitment of 41,851 new Leaders and members in the pilot region hosted the Africa Region Conference in August 2022. In September 2022 TGGA submitted a proposal to World Guide Fund to partner in a membership growth Roll-out project (the roll -out) to recruit and train new volunteer leaders and members as an important step to reach the ambitious national goals. The proposal was discussed over several iterations and concluded with decision to join in an agreement for the proposed roll-out with same adjustment
Tanzania Girl Guide (TGGA) is a primarily school-based Girl Guide association. The primary focus in the roll-out will be on recruiting 360,000 new girls and young leaders. Tanzania Girl Guide will seek to reach new leaders among women professionals, teachers, students at colleges, universities, tertiary institutions, young women out of school and to reach Girls within the target groups in government and private schools as well as communities and religious institution. The roll-out will include 12 Regions with a total 75 District.
In addition to the recruitment, TGGA will focus on consistent collection of membership fees and development of other sources of income to increase financial sustainability of the organization.
In the movement of WFG we hope to provide training to girls and women about all the projects run by the Tanzania Girl Guide Association. The projects are
- GPN, Girls Powered Nutrition, this is a project that teaches a girl child or woman Foods to use to build good health
- STEM, this is a project that encourages girls to love science studies where the word STEM means Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics
- IOGT, this is a project to educate girls and women about the effects of drug abuse, drugs and alcohol consumption
- Surf smart, this is a project that guides a girl or woman in the use of the Internet and the consequences if she misuses the Internet and what to do when she finds that she has been used online without her consent
- Free being me, this is a project that teaches a girl or woman to be confident in doing what is worthy and beneficial to society and the country as well.
- MHM, this means Menstrual Hygiene Management, this is a project that teaches a girl the steps to follow during her days
- Other project is Entrepreneurship, young leaders connect, YESS project and Leadership training
